Abstract :
Welded steel tubular joints are widely used on pile foundation of coastal wind power generation and offshore platform. A model is set up and thin-shell finite element analyses have been conducted for joints typical of those used in coastal and offshore structures. Six degrees of freedom constraints and loading, calculate the stress distribution of the tubular joints in a variety of load based on ABAQUS. Especially on the complex geometric modeling- stress concentration factor (SCF) through the thickness and around the intersection of the tube. Using the database of finite element analysis results, the curve for the SCFs under six loading cases of the intersection can be derived. The result is reliability in a certain accuracy and it establishes foundation to get an equation of the stress concentration factor.
