Abstract :
A simple technique is presented in this paper for modelling of linear and nonlinear electrical loads. The proposed technique uses directly the samples of the voltage and current waveforms, and there is no need to identify the harmonic contents of these waveforms, as has been done in the literature. The finite divided difference together with the least errors square estimation algorithm is the method used for identifying the load parameters. The parameters to be identified are the equivalent R, L, and C of the load, as well as the residual and uncommon harmonic currents, if any. The proposed algorithm is tested on simulated and actual recorded date. It has been shown, in the body of the text, that the proposed algorithm produces good results, which agreed with the previous algorithms
