Abstract :
In this paper, joint matrix quantization of speech coding parameters is proposed to exploit the coherence between them. Gain and pitch parameters are jointly quantized. A distortion measure is defined to take into account the different importance of parameters. The method to adjust the weight in the distortion measure is presented. Experimental results show significant gains in quantization performance and synthesis speech quality compared with separate quantization.
