Abstract
Optimal reception in MIMO systems including channel coding, is achieved by jointly performing MIMO detection and channel decoding. Since joint processing is too costly (complexity wise), MIMO and channel decoding have to be performed separately on the expenses of performance. Using iterative reception, it is possible to approach capacity limits. LDPC codes have been used in many standards and seem to be an interesting solution for iterative receivers. The problem of LDPC design for iterative MIMO receivers have been addressed in the literature using Density Evolution and EXIT charts techniques. In this paper we consider LDPC coded iterative MIMO receiver and we show that MIMO LDPC iterative reception can be designed and scheduled in a complexity and energy efficient manner without significant loss of performance.
