Abstract
Following previous works, a quantitative assessment is performed for the performance of spread spectrum direct sequence cab signalling on railway track circuits. This usefully updates the assessment of the capabilities of the track circuit techniques. Both interference spectra provided by the CCTTT and data recorded during tests run on Italian State Railways have been used to represent harmful traction currents from solid-state modern locomotive equipment
