  • Abstract
    The method for S-wave velocity profiling by inversion of microtremor horizontal-to-vertical (H/V) spectrum proposed by Arai and Tokimatsu is reviewed and improved, in which, the deep ground structures, usually known from other geophysical methods, are assumed as unknowns. The improvement is then verified by the inversion of S-wave velocity profile of four real sites in Tianjin, and it is shown that the improvement is reasonable and valuable for engineering.
