Abstract
The problem addressed in this paper is edge detection in digital images by means of spatial filtering. Canny´s criteria, which allow a quantitative evaluation of the performance of an edge detection technique have been used to compare two filters. The well known edge detection framework proposed by Deriche has been compared to a new one, which makes use of a damped hyperbolic sine function
