Abstract :
Steel is a very important material to manufacture the products in industries and the life. It is manufactured through many complex processes and much cost. Due to the global competition and customers´ needs, the manufacturers are now under very high pressure to improve the quality of the products, save the cost and time for the desulphurization process for iron loss and temperature loss of the hot metal. Therefore, in this study, Innovative Approach in TRIZ was applied to improve the desulphurization process in steel making. Function Attribute analysis, Substance-Field analysis and Inventive Principles were applied to find out a new design to solve the problem. The experimented results show that, the hot metal lost 30°C and 2.5% iron before improvement; then with the new design, the hot metal only lost 20°C and 1% iron. A total of 90 tons iron was saved every day. This result contributes to improve the quality of the products, save the cost of manufacturing process, and enhance the competition of the products in market.
