Abstract
A research study has recently been completed which considered the design of flight-deck warning systems from the user perspective. The focus of this paper is on reporting the findings of one aspect of this particular study which involved a questionnaire survey conducted with a large sample of commercial flight-deck crew. However, it should be noted that the work reported here was part of a much larger research programme concerned with the overall development of an advanced warning and diagnostic system for civil aircraft
