Abstract :
Currently, it appears that CVD diamond, while expensive, is the premier material for use as the output window for high-power, millimeter-wave gyrotrons. Crystalline SiC, which is significantly less expensive, has potential as an alternate material. In this paper, measurements of the permittivity and loss tangent for 6H SiC in the millimeter wave range are presented.
