Abstract :
The problem of designing model reference adaptive control systems for plants with unmodelled dynamics subject to output disturbances is considered. The inadequacies of present model reference adaptive system design philosophies are highlighted, and a new design philosophy is outlined that makes use of the powerful frequency-domain design tools used in classical analysis.
