Abstract :
This paper reviews the potential of XML a key technology in the evolution of TMN. The current state and applications of XML is reviewed with respect to the communication management domain. XML is suggested as a way to build on TMN´s strengths while addressing its weaknesses in terms of being overspecialized and difficult to mediate with. An example of a current industrial application of XML in TMN system procurement is given
