Abstract
We present the case for DTNServ, a service class framework for the delay tolerant network architecture, that can greatly improve the communications interface between DTN applications and the network implementation. Through this framework, user applications can be efficiently informed about the state of the network and communicate their needs, allowing for more informed provisioning and scheduling decisions. We present an initial design for service classes, discuss the implications of this addition, and outline opportunities for further research in this area.
