Abstract
The authors study the outline synthesis problem of plane shapes based on their landmark point set. The approach is invariant not only to global transformation groups but also to local deformations. The main points of this approach are the characterization of an outline using a subset of points of its curve of curvatures and the use of certain specific splines to interpolate between these points. Each outline is considered as a sample of a distribution of probability which means it defines the pattern curve or shape
