Abstract
This paper studies the controller design of a telecom rectifier from theoretical and practical viewpoints. A practical analogue constant-voltage and over-load protection controller is suggested and described based on a modified PID implementation and intelligent use of simple diodes to ensure stability and proper dynamics of operation. The presented concept is well proven in practical usage and shows excellent performance from light load down to short circuit
