Abstract :
Discusses two important approaches to active vision-multi-resolution and variable-resolution. As examples, work on active object recognition and active stereo is presented. It is shown that the motivation and advantage for adopting these approaches are clearly their effectiveness and efficiency. The two approaches are the same in spirit and they are similar in methodologies. Moreover, they are both suited for real-time pyramidal implementations
