Abstract :
In this paper it is proposed an index that identifies Hopf bifurcation points in power systems susceptible to subsynchronous resonance. For this task it is used the Schur form of the Jacobian matrix of the entire electrical power system. Comparisons are also made between this proposed one and an index previously presented. Additionally, the power system is modeled in a different way, which does not consider the network frequency as the weighted average of the connected generators.
