Abstract
Based on the Indian-Pacific Ocean air-sea heat flux (IPOFlux) Dataset [1], the characteristics of air-sea latent and sensible heat fluxes over Kuroshio area are analyzed in this paper. Correlation analysis indicates that there is a remarkable positive correlation between air-sea heat fluxes in the Kuroshio area and the flood season precipitation in Qingdao with 20-month lag. This result has important implications for prediction of the flood season precipitation in Qingdao, and provides a scientific basis for further study of the flood season precipitation in Qingdao and its prediction. Based on these results, a regression equation is obtained to predict the flood season precipitation in Qingdao in 2012. The flood season precipitation will be less than in the normal year.
