Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach to deal with the problem of robust tuning of PSS in multimachine power systems with different operating conditions of load, topology and generation scheduling. The proposed method is based on the formulation of an optimization problem, solved by an evolutionary programming algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through modal analysis and nonlinear simulations of two test systems, carried out using Matlab and PSS/E software package.
