Abstract :
Terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) has been applied to measure far infrared (FIR) absorption spectra of molecular complexes and molecules in solutions such as charge-transfer complexes, polar solutes in non-polar solvents, or liquid crystals, and biopolymers such as polypeptides, and proteins like cytochrome c and bacteriorhodopsin. Weak intermolecular interactions and structural fluctuations are discussed in terms of the obtained low-frequency spectra.
