Abstract
A polygraphic assessment system designed for long term recording of physiological signals from infants in the home environment is described. A laptop forms the base of the system which has been used to record cardiorespiratory function and thermal behaviour as part of a Sudden Infant Death Syndrome research program. Time and frequency domain signal processing techniques have been implemented in a two-stage analysis system. This has been developed to reduce the large amount of recorded data so that it may be presented to the clinical investigator in a form that highlights signal trends.
