Abstract
This paper presents the results and conclusions obtained from a physical model study of the previous floating breakwater located in Aguete (Galicia, Spain). The aim of this study is to determine the mooring lines and module connector forces in real conditions in order to optimize the design of this structure. For this purpose, mooring lines forces and stress and momentum between modules have been measured with 1D and 3D strain gauges. To analyze the influence of the mooring line type, four different anchoring typologies was tested. Furthermore, 3D tests with different incident wave angle were carried out. Therefore, with the obtained results, an improvement of the knowledge of the structural behavior of floating breakwaters as a whole was achieved.
