Abstract :
In this paper, a pre-processing toolkit for three-dimensional extended finite element method (X-FEM) is discussed and employed for three-dimensional arbitrary crack growth simulation. The major topics includes the framework of X-FEM toolkit, formulations of 3D crack using level sets, the data structure of pre-processing toolkit and corresponding implementation. Using simple 11times11times11 cubic mesh and tee-joint as benchmark, the results of pre-processing are presented and verified.
