Abstract
In this paper, we describe part of the studies conducted at C.N.E.T. in Lannion, in the field of speech recognition by words. These studies led us to develop a prototype system for the recognition of short sentences (up to 10 words), built from a vocabulary of about 100 words. This system is called SERAPHINE. We describe different modules of this system, together with first results we obtained in some specific applications. Finally, we give an idea of the possible future development of the system.
