Abstract :
This paper describes a new class of loop antenna. Two inverted-L open slots are etched on the rectangular metallic layer of a single sided printed circuit board to form the irregular width loop antenna. The dimension of inverted-L open slot is changed to design and fabricate the antenna which can be operated at 2.45/5.2/5.8 GHz successfully. We use IE3D software to design the irregular width loop antennas and choose the better parameter to manufacture the proposed antenna. The influences of slot parameter of the loop antenna on the resonant frequency, impedance bandwidth, and gain are described. The proposed antenna with the small volume of 39mm×24mm×1.6mm has been fabricated and this antenna can be used in WLAN frequency band.
