Abstract :
The plethora of legislation facing equipment and device manufacturers and users is increasing as Europe moves towards the integration of a free market. This paper outlines some of the principal legislation and indicates the moves seen as being necessary for medical engineering and medical physics activities to survive as part of the hospital and university systems.
