Abstract :
A modular soft-commutation scheme is proposed for three-level inverters. The DC-link voltages are pinched to a neutral point when the PWM pattern changes. Two mirror-symmetric quasi-resonant sub-circuits are specially designed as the inverter´s optional module. New features include modularity, fewer component counts and lower voltage ratings, reduced common-mode and balanced link-capacitor voltages. The effect of the neutral line current on the synchronization of zero voltage swings of the upper and lower resonant banks has been analyzed
