Abstract :
In this paper, an improved averaging technique for average current mode controlled (ACMC) pulse width modulated (PWM) DC/DC converters is proposed. The modeling procedure provides ripple estimation and improves switching time calculation for ACMC PWM DC/DC converters. As an application of the theory, an ACMC boost converter with two proportional-integral (PI) controllers for both current loop and voltage loop is presented. Results confirm that the new averaged models are more accurate than conventional averaged models
