Abstract
This paper proposes a novel IIR adaptive filter. It takes some features from the Artificial Bee Colony algorithm and combines them with the elements from the classical gradient search filter theory to produce an adaptive filter that is characterized by a very fast convergence rate, high levels of accuracy and effectiveness in avoiding local minima solutions. The results from system identification based experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
