Abstract :
Some of the many facets of adaptability are discussed from the points of view of both the human and the computer. Attention is focused on the questions of how much adaptation is appropriate for each application, who adapts (man, machine, or both), and where the control is housed. Examples for both the human and computer sides of the interface are given
