Abstract
A sufficient condition is given for nonsingular detection of stochastic signals embedded in additive spherically-invariant noise. An expression for the likelihood ratio is obtained. These results are used to analyse a communication channel containing additive spherically-invariant noise; the mutual information is evaluated and a lower bound for channel capacity is obtained.
