Abstract :
The analysis of foot movements is important in sports and computer vision can be used to provide feedback to athletes about their foot placements. This paper describes a method for locating and rendering an athlete´s foot placements over a geometric plane for professional analysis. Results and method for our implementation are discussed. This method uses background subtraction and blob segmentation to get a silhouette of an athlete from a static camera. A homography is generated to translate screen points onto a world ground plane. Our results show that it is possible to map a subject´s general foot placements over a plane in real time.
