Abstract :
When investments are concentrated in an industry where there is an accelerate rate of improving in operating and investment cost through technical innovations, as typically happens in renewable production energies, a process may exist where the economic life of the equipment may shorten due to the anticipated renewal process when new alternatives become competitive. In order to describe this phenomenon, a broad review is made to energy producing costs both from a descriptive approach and from the evolutionary economics perspective.
