  • Abstract
Using a wireless sensor network composed of both fixed and mobile nodes for indoor monitoring, may offer some technological advantages over a typical fixed nodes solution. Using a small WSN for real life trials and a simulated environment for a more complete geometrical analysis, we try to find some analytical solutions for the real life problems we encounter during our tests. Our simulated space based positioning technique allows us to determine the optimal placement of a mobile node so that the communicational paths can be restored in case of a fixed node failure. An analytic representation of the monitored space is used in order to find the most efficient solution.
