Abstract
We investigate optical response of nano-porous gold (NPG) in the visible frequencies. NPG film is obtained from 50:50 alloy of gold and silver by applying concentrated nitric acid. Reflectivity reduces significantly in the red range of the spectrum, which allows localized surface plasmon excitation without electronic interband transition. Possibility of photorectification upon surface plasmon excitation is discussed.
