  • Abstract
In this paper present the electronic ballast using class-E rectifier with tapped inductor for power factor correction. The inductance load of electronic ballast, is crest factor occurring. Class-E rectifier is used for power factor correction. The low line harmonic obtained from class-E rectifier that inserted between the fort end bride rectifier and the bulk filter capacitor, for increase the conduction angle of the bridge rectifier diode current. While, impedance matching obtained a high frequency tapped inductor. The simulation for 36 W ballast at full power. Present power factor was 0.99, the total efficiency was 90%, and the lamp crest factor was 1.41. The experimental for the prototype ballast. Present power factor 0.99, the total efficiency 86%, THD 5.6%. The proposed are high power factor, low harmonic in line current, smaller size and weight, and economic cost.
