Abstract :
Two simple finite element algorithms with a 2D first-order rectangular node and edge elements are applied to the analysis of rectangular waveguide structures. Our results agree very well with those obtained using other numerical techniques, validating our simple finite element algorithms. Compared with other finite element schemes, our finite element algorithms are much simpler and can lead to a satisfying accuracy.
