Abstract
This paper presents a cost effective and high quality solution for a 802.11b small-signal amplifier based on the NXP 5 GHz wideband NPN transistor BFG25A/X. It discusses all important steps of the design process and gives experimental verification of the amplifier performance. The results show that the amplifier gain is in the range 6.45-8.1 dB, while the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is below 2 in the complete 2.4-2.495 GHz frequency band.
