Abstract
From a single transient test, we determine all of the transfer function parameters of a test system, such as a filter, a communication channel, or a loudspeaker. The transfer function is obtained from the time-domain test data (recorded input and output) using a digital signal processing technique, specifically the pencil-of-functions technique. The methodology is demonstrated both by a laboratory test case and a simulation example.
