Abstract :
The RCM 9 measures currents in the sea by use of a small acoustic Doppler sensor. This provides for an instrument with no moving parts, that is easy to install, and resistant to measurement degradation from fouling. In addition to current speed and direction the instrument also measures the temperature, conductivity, pressure and turbidity of the water. The instrument can operate for up to two years, recording all data internally or transferring data in real time by use of cable or acoustic link
