Abstract :
An original adaptive, infinite-impulse-response (IIR) feedback, line-enhancer structure is proposed as an adaptive differential pulse code modulation (ADPCM) algorithm. The underlying parameter estimation problem is formulated and a minor variation on the recursive maximum likelihood (RML) algorithm is suggested. Simulated tests measuring SNR improvement provide preliminary support of the feasibility of such a scheme.
