  • Abstract
In search for low cost circularly polarized active circulator radiating conformal patch (paste-on) structure, so called smart skin antenna, a novel approach employing combination of phase cancellation technique and perturbation segments in the form of truncated corner of the patch is reported. This paper presents a review of active circulator design and it´s comparative performances to suit trans-receive applications. Much of the activity has been driven by the impact of 3G-wireless communication to meet the challenge of size, cost and performance, presenting a revolution in antenna technology. The active circulator antenna has shown 16 dB TX-gain and 8 dB RX-gain with the isolation of 28 dB and axial ratio of 0.961 at 5.0 GHz
