Abstract :
This paper focuses on the available calculation model of millimeter wave propagating attenuation due to clouds and fog in the atmosphere. It is difficult to calculate its attenuation accurately because of the diversity of the kind of clouds and fogs and the inhomogeneity of the particle density in a real environment. A real-time observation method is generally used in calculating the attenuation due to clouds and fog, but it is disadvantageous for quantitative analysis. So, we use the Rayleigh scattering approximation to calculate the attenuation due to clouds and fog in a certain area according to its weather data. Finally, we simply analyze its results.
