Abstract :
Effects of structure design on rotary actuation generated by a novel cyclic symmetric stator have been investigated in this research through finite element simulation. Migration of structure response is characterized through parameter studies considering changes of number of the protrusion fingers and contact angle between stator fingers and rotor. The structure responses on the stator disk and protrusion finger of the stator have been observed in this study. The split structure response on the protrusion fingers has been characterized by changing the number of the finger on the stator disk. The in-plane deformation of the protrusion finger has been reviewed by two different parameters, namely displacement strength and bending deformation angle. An experimental prototype was built to examine the consistency with the simulation result.
