Abstract
This paper describes designing a tip-tilt-piston motion controller of fast steering mirror(FSM) in the Giant Magellan telescope(GMT) as a preliminary study. The mathematical model of tip-tilt-piston motion system of FSM is derived by using second-order differential equation approximation, which the overall model is considered as Multi-Input Multi-Output(MIMO) system. Based on this model, a H∞ controller is designed with mixed sensitivity approach. It´s solved by two Riccati equations through selecting the appropriate weighting functions.
