Abstract
This paper presents a practical approach to location identification for ad hoc/sensor networks. The approach adopts the cell-based location identification concept and basic realistic assumptions to most types of ad hoc/sensor networks. Some drawbacks of the TDOA system are resolved. Further, the location estimation accuracy of the proposed system, hybrid TDOA, is improved in different environments compared with the TDOA method based on simulations. The proposed method also performs well in both non-noisy and noisy environments.
