Abstract :
The authors address the potential MPT (manpower, personnel and training) applications of the ORDB (occupational research data bank). The ORDB is an up-to-date occupational research database containing a wide variety of both historical and current information on enlisted and officer career fields. A brief description is provided of the kinds of information available within each of the ORDB subsystems. Steps are outlined and examples given which MPT analysis might currently use to establish a predecessor-system baseline data file from which estimates of MPT requirements for new and emerging weapon systems can be made. Possible longer-term modifications to the ORDB system to help meet the need of early MPT analysis are considered
