Abstract :
A trial of the AT&T Integrated Access and Cross-Connect System (IACS) on the BellSouth Corporate Network (BSCN) is discussed. The author describes how the trial was configured and reports on the results. The trial demonstrated the feasibility of using wideband packet technology (WPT) to provide an integrated transport of voice and data while minimizing the number of facilities required. Also discussed are other network applications of WPT that are being considered
