Abstract
The issue of adaptively processing signals in continuous time with filters having both zeros and poles is considered. Beginning with the discrete-time hyperstable adaptive recursive filter (HARF) structure, a continuous-time structure similar to the simplified HARF (SHARF) is developed. Although similar to SHARF, the continuous-time structure is even simpler. It is shown that, despite the simplification, the continuous-time SHARF exhibits theoretical convergence under certain conditions, a characteristic not enjoyed by the discrete-time SHARF
