Abstract

The paper presents a health-care solution with focus on medical imaging department operational planning. Analysis is done based on the department requirements and the functionalities that are provided by Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) technology at hardware and software level. Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) patient administration process flow serves as a well defined example. This paper proposes an architectural model based on customization of commercial ERP and PACS. Key workflows, tasks and protocols from medical imaging domain are presented. Finally the required infrastructure is discussed in a case study, using SAP for Healthcare software.
